Who we are.
Friedrich Merz cared deeply about helping people. That is why the 24-year-old German pharmacist and chemist founded the Merz company in 1908. Now, more than 117 years later, we at Merz Therapeutics, as part of the Merz Group, are proud of our broad portfolio of well-established products that treat severe health conditions such as movement disorders and neurological conditions. It is our ambition to really make a difference for patients and healthcare providers. Therefore, in the tradition of our founder, when we develop new products, technologies or services, we always first ask ourselves the question “What is needed?”.
Our products treat fundamental impairments in patients’ daily life. We cover a broad spectrum of therapy options and seek to address the specific needs of patients with the following:
Neuromuscular disorders and conditions
such as cervical dystonia, upper & lower limb spasticity, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease
Chronic severe drooling (sialorrhea)
in children and adults with neurological conditions

Also, we rely on our experienced and successful global distribution partner management. In order to provide innovative products that meet the highest quality standards, our R&D department cooperates with a recognised expert network and turns these insights into solutions – such as in our state-of-the-art neurotoxin biotechnology production site.
