Since the Merz Company was founded in 1908, it has always been our vision to make a difference to patients in need of better care. Our founder, Friedrich Merz, established a simple guiding principle: always ask, ‘What is needed?’ This question has since shaped our portfolio of therapeutic healthcare products that help thousands live better lives.
In 2020, Merz Therapeutics was launched to unlock its fullest potential in the discovery and provision of life-improving medicines. Merz Therapeutics harnesses the independence and patient-centric mindset that Friedrich Merz has always embodied, to the focused pursuit of specialty therapeutics that can enhance quality of life.
Our medicines are already helping those who suffer from movement disorders, neurological conditions and other health concerns that severely impact patients’ quality of life, and our pipeline holds the promise of many further innovations.

Our sustainability journey
With 2 production sites, offices in 12 countries and sales in over 80 countries, we recognize the significant impact our business has on the environment and society.
We established a formal Sustainability Strategy in 2021 as part of our commitment to improving health in the markets we serve. This strategy, under constant review and refinement, is now a central consideration when making choices about how to deliver better outcomes for more patients.
