Our mission is to achieve better outcomes for more patients. But human health is directly connected to the health of the world around us. So in addition to our work for patients, Merz Therapeutics also aims to enhance our environmental stewardship.

With operations in 12 countries and sales in over 80 countries worldwide, our business has a significant impact on the environment and society.
Our sustainability journey began in 2021, and since then we have taken important steps towards sustainability-focused decision making and action. We are excited to keep doing better.
Our ambition
At Merz Therapeutics, we began our sustainability journey in 2021 with the establishment the our internal Sustainability Task Force. This group analyzed the most important issues for our business and developed our Sustainability Strategy. Updated in 2024 to align with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), we are pleased to report that our core sustainability priorities remain consistent and clear.
By joining the UN Global Compact in 2023 and by initiating the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating in the same year, we have aligned our strategy with global sustainability principles. In 2024, we reaffirmed our support for the UN Global Compact through a renewed letter of commitment from CEO Stefan König, alongside the submission of our first Communication on Progress report. Our sustainability metrics in 2024 have also earned us the EcoVadis Bronze Medal, placing us in the 84th percentile of companies that demonstrate a commitment to promoting transparency throughout our sustainability management system.
We will continuously drive the implementation of our Sustainability Strategy through tangible and impactful actions and diligently report on our success, for better outcomes for more patients, people, and the world.
