Two key environmental focus areas
Our work to be a sustainable business focuses on two areas: reducing climate-relevant emissions and managing waste generation, recycling, and packaging. In this way our efforts can benefit both the environment and our business performance.
Our double materiality analysis identified the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as the area where we could make a significant improvement to our environmental performance. By systematically collecting data, we have obtained a fact-based picture of our status quo and identified measures to improve our carbon footprint along the entire value chain, including:

With our global waste footprint as a priority, we gather comprehensive waste data from Merz Therapeutics locations, with the goal of quantifying and mapping our annual waste generation. From this, we develop more effective waste management strategies to enhance the recyclability of our products and minimise waste. These include:
